swings and roundabouts...

thoughts...
playing at party had been going quite well and i was up to $96 but i was beginning to get bored and wanted to start whoring again.. after posting my plans on a message board, it seemed that the best place for my money was grandbay..
the terms of the bonus were that after completing 100 raked hands, a $30 refer a friend bonus as well as a $30 sign up bonus would be credited.. pretty sweet deal it would seem for those of us with little or no bankroll.. not wanting to let this one get away, i immediately withdrew my balance from party and deposited the $50 in grandbay.. completed the 100 raked hands in just over an hour and was a whole $6 better off in the end..
when the $60 bonus eventually came through it came to $66.. not bad for an hours work at such mediocre stakes.. my bankroll now stood at a healthier $162 - "this whole whoring business is almost too easy huh" ..

pity my next stop wasn't so successful..
golden riviera was my next stop on this bumpy ride.. they were offering a $50 sign up bonus which required a $50 deposit and 250 raked hands at the .25/.5 tables..
lookes a pretty simple bonus to clear you would think but i, of course, managed to spend almost my entire bankroll getting this one outa the way.. it was my worst run to date where it seemed that every time i flop the nuts, i get beat by a runner runner straight/flush/house, set over set etc, you know the story.. obviously an unhealthy way to look at poker, but goddamn, this is my bankroll we're talkin' 'bout! it's different.. :)
anyway, after spending 2 days and almost $90 i eventualy got it cleared.. the $50 bonus came through shortly afterwards to soften the blow somewhat but still left me with a headache and a miserable balance of $124..

i was possibly playing too loose at golden riviera as my confidence was growing too wildly alongside my bankroll.. so i'm going to be playing as tight as i was at pitbull for my next trip and see how things go..
now, to pick myself up and try out the william hill bonus..
terms? credited £25 (~$47) for 5hrs of .50/1 whoring.. a nice bankroll booster if i can manage.. t'will be the highest stakes i've played thus far so i'm hoping i don't have much trouble adapting as in the past..

games...
was playing against an absolute sicko on party 0.10/.25 last night .. he was raising every single hand to $5, regardless of position.. it obv worked for him as when he got called, he always had the worst hand going in but seemed to flop the nuts or next best post flop..
anyway, his luck didn't change when i went up against him.. i was dealt AKs on the big blind and he made his usual raise to 5.. i knew i was more than likely ahead and felt like a gamble so went all in for my remaining 25 hoping he wouldn't call but not minding if he did..
well, he did call.. with K2o.. "whey, only 1 live card!".. of course the board brought a 2 and that was the end of me.. though not content with losing only 1 buy-in to this guy, i rebuy and sit tight praying for a half decent hand to go up against him with again.. 3 hands later i'm dealt AA on the button.."hallelujah".. villain makes his usual raise to $5 and i push for 25.. he of course calls and shows 1010, board brings a 10 and i'm almost hopping my laptop off the wall.. bah, why do i play this cruel game..

i could have perhaps avoided the above hands but felt it was a great chance to add an extra buy-in or two to my meagre bankroll.. next time perhaps..
i had just won a whopping $45 in an MTT so my bankroll could just about absorb the hit.. but anymore mad moves/bad beats could bring this little challenge to a halt fairly suddenly.. so i think i'll be avoiding them, for the time being at least..

balance...
$124
